Dave Gilbert I'm Dave Gilbert (there appears to be another artist called David Gilbert knocking around, but i'm not him) :) Born in 1971, I went to Onchan primary school & Ballakermeen High School where my teachers, including Mannin Arts Mrs Pitts, helped me develop my work. From doodling in pencil & pen & ink, i went on to painting my passion for motorcycles in oils & acrylics. Although my work consists primarily of motorcycle racers, i have been known to do some different work like the odd portrait. It seems to take me forever to finish a piece & have dozens unfinished lying around the house. I'm not inspired by any of the great artists, but find I'm more inspired by local artists or new up & coming artists. My work will never be remembered in a hundred years, but hey, I've had fun doing it !
